The Seed of Love and the Thorn of Prejudice

The seed of love and the thorn of prejudice.
This week we were saving sunflower seeds. We grow a variety at the schools that produce brown, tan, white, black and grey seeds.
While picking out seeds a young girl shared with me that some people are prejudice toward her but she isn’t going to let it bother her and she’s going to be herself.
It hurt for me to hear that this young girl has felt the pain of prejudice. We discussed the seeds and the variety of colors, each one produces beautiful sunflowers. One sunflower is not better than the other. Each flower is unique and brings joy. We both smiled at each other as we plucked out seeds together. Imagine a world without hate.
