Mitchell Dahlstrom

Educator/Garden Manager

Meet Mitch Dahlstrom

Garden Manager/Educator at H.O.P.E. Gardens

Mitch Dahlstrom joined the H.O.P.E. Gardens team in May 2024, bringing his passion for gardening and teaching to the organization. As a Garden Educator and Manager in training, Mitch is excited to inspire students by showing them where food comes from and how they can grow it themselves.

As a teacher at Wyoming Public Schools, Mitch discovered his love for gardening and education working with students. Witnessing the H.O.P.E. team in action at his school solidified his desire to join the team and contribute to their mission.

Mitch holds degrees in Integrated Science and Education from Grand Valley State University, along with a minor in Elementary Education. He also holds an Elementary Teaching Certification. These qualifications, paired with his enthusiasm for hands-on learning, make him a perfect fit for teaching scholars about gardening, food cultivation, and sustainability.

Outside of work, Mitch enjoys spending time with friends and family, camping, and relaxing at the beach. His favorite gardening advice is simple yet profound: “The best thing for the garden is the gardener.” Mitch’s love for flowers like zinnias, gomphrena, calendula, celosia, and strawflowers shines through at H.O.P.E. Gardens’ annual bouquet parties, where beauty and community come together.

Mitch’s passion for education and gardening is already making an impact, and the H.O.P.E. Gardens community is thrilled to have him on board!
