Garden Educator at H.O.P.E. Gardens
Angie Bruder brings a unique blend of compassion, expertise, and enthusiasm to her role as a Garden Educator at H.O.P.E. Gardens. After volunteering with the organization in 2022, Angie officially joined the team in the summer of 2023, driven by a passion for helping children develop healthy eating habits through hands-on gardening experiences.

Angie’s background as a registered nurse fuels her commitment to improving access to nutrient-rich, fresh foods. “After working in health care, I feel especially drawn to helping people gain access to and appreciation for healthy, nutrient-rich foods,” she explains. “By giving kids the opportunity to discover how flavorful freshly grown produce is, we are helping them establish healthy habits for a lifetime.”

To deepen her gardening knowledge, Angie completed Michigan State University’s Organic Farmer Training Program in 2022. She now combines this expertise with her healthcare experience to inspire children in the garden, delighting in their joy as they discover the wonders of nature and the taste of freshly grown produce.

Outside of work, Angie enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends, soaking in the beauty of nature. On her days off, she loves transforming her suburban yard into a thriving space filled with food and native flowers—a labor of love that reflects her belief in the value of growing, no matter the scale.
